V.O.I.C.E. - The Silence is Over!
Mars is the new frontier for humanity - as Russia, China, North Korea, the European Union and of course the U.S. set up manned bases to research and establish the means of large-scale colonization - a springboard to the stars, but that requires water - lots of it. Mars rovers and drone scans have long since established that aqua exists below the surface - but getting to it, that's the trick. Jacob Dekker, and his partner, Jess Andersson, manning Mars One, a cooperative endeavor between the EU and the U.S., have discovered a deep cavern, a possible access point to a lake of frozen water the size of Los Angeles. When they descend into its bowels, they not only find the mother lode - that is, access to that lake, they also find something else, a shocking discovery that lights the fuse for a concatenation of global events that will change our world.
V.O.I.C.E. - The Silence is Over! is a high-concept thriller, a truth-bomb, pulling no punches to save humanity from its suicidal pitfalls.
"Compelling science fiction novel with eerie echoes of our current times
I don't often read science fiction novels. I enjoyed this new release by Real Laplaine, a sequel to Woman Ex. It is well written. To my untutored mind, the science aspect is rendered in a believable manner. The story centers on a young specialist and his partner on a mission on Mars which goes badly wrong, seemingly placing the life of his partner at risk. This leads to a mysterious message from space. I don't want to offer any other details as those would include spoilers. I just found it refreshing to read a story that offers an element of hope, something we need badly these days." – Malve von Hassell, author
