This is a comprehensive guide to the Greek island of Lesvos. When the authors lived on the island for a period in the late 1980's, they fell in love with it and have been regular visitors ever since. They also authored the 'Landscapes of Lesvos' , a walking and countryside guide as well as a small booklet 'Orchids of Lesvos'.
Visitors are encouraged to visit every corner of this large and unspoilt Greek island from the petrified forest in the volcanic east to the hill villages on the verdant slopes of Mount Olympus. There are days out suggested, car tours and walks and, in addition, many short feature articles bringing aspect of the culture to life. Some walks are also included in this book.
