Samenvatting:

Lapland is not a country but it is actually a region that stretches across Finland, Russia, Norway and Sweden. Nearly all of Lapland falls within the Arctic Circle. The largest part of Lapland is in Finland, where approximately a quarter of the country is Lappish. For thousands of years people have been fascinated by Norway’s Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) and its magical display of coloured lights dancing across northern skies. These northern lights are caused by the earth’s magnetic field reacting with electrically charged solar particles. Tromsø in Norway is one of the best places on earth to see this spectacular display.
