Samenvatting:

For almost twenty-eight years, I've been an autism dad. Michael, my son, is autistic and non-verbal; however, his quiet demeanor has provided me with an infinite source of lessons. Mostly, through simple observation, I've come to see life in a much different way. In short, he's helped me to like myself much more than I did as a young man. This book is a simple collection of essays about the insanity we're dealing with currently in the United States. When I began putting them together as a book, I realized every one of these essays, serious or humorous, contained a perspective I've gained from Michael's life lessons. We're a team. In life and in our books, Michael quietly inspires me and I simply steer my words according to the directions he has given me. I think they're good lessons for any life, especially in the ass-backward times we are experiencing during the "trump years." (Author's note: I FREQUENTLY don't capitalize his name. He's a pathetic, tiny man who isn't worthy to tie my son's shoes.) Please enjoy a slice of our life and the valuable lessons I've learned from Michael and others with mental challenges. They are beautiful souls with a great deal to teach us, and this book is dedicated to all of them throughout the world.
