Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar is a collection of stories by Maurice Leblanc, first published in 1907. The book contains the first nine stories featuring the character Arsène Lupin, a famous thief. The stories were first published in the French magazine Je sais tout, with the first one appearing in 1905. The seventh story features English detective Sherlock Holmes, who was later changed to "Herlock Sholmes" after protests from Arthur Conan Doyle's lawyers. The book includes stories such as "The Arrest of Arsène Lupin," where Lupin is caught by inspector Ganimard, and "The Escape of Arsène Lupin," where Lupin escapes from prison. Other stories include "The Queen's Necklace," "The Safe of Madame Imbert," and "The Black Pearl." The book is a crime novel and was followed by a second collection, Arsène Lupin versus Herlock Sholmes. The stories are available in French and have been translated into English.
