Samenvatting:

The Kybalion is a 1908 document summarizing the teachings of Hermeticism, also known as the Seven Principles of Hermeticism. Its authorship is attributed to an anonymous group of people calling themselves The Three Initiates, although the bases of hermeticism are attributed to a mystical alchemist and deity of some occult lodges called Hermes Trismegisto, whose existence is estimated in Egypt before the time of the Pharaohs and According to legend, he was Abraham's guide. The origin of this mythical Hermes Trismegisto, is full of great mysticism, legends and stories. It is often argued that Hermes Trismegisto was the same Thoth of the Egyptians, it is also said that he was a sage who for his great knowledge was raised to the degree of god in ancient Greece. Similarly, there are many other relationships and comparisons made between various historical figures and the figure of Hermes Trismegisto, who becomes an archetypal figure rather than a historical figure for whom there is concrete evidence.
