Samenvatting:

PJ Irwin is a highly talented middle-aged runner who might be good enough to qualify for one last shot to compete in the Olympics 10,000 Meter Event. After being laid off from his engineering job, PJ takes advantage of his time between jobs to increase his training in an effort to qualify for the trials. Along the way, PJ takes on a part time job coaching cross country at a local catholic high school that is doing everything it can to get enrollment up and stay afloat. What PJ never planned for was the more important duty that would come as a result of this decision to coach.
Where the Lions Roam delves into the idea that our final reward requires us to complete our business here on earth.

About the Author

Al Siuta grew up in Elizabeth, NJ and at an early age displayed a talent for running and storytelling. During his high school and college years he focused on his running and competed against top local, national and international talent during the 70's through 80's. After a brief time off Al resumed his running career as a master's runner and took the plunge into coaching at the high school and college level. During this period he used his skill at storytelling to inspire his athletes to new heights. Along the way, he penned this book which is a tribute to the first runner he ever knew, his father. Although the piece is fiction, it has some very real links to real life experiences that Al says are what "destined" him to write this book.
