The issue of great taste contained within the parameters of good nutrition is one that obviously needs to be addressed at this point in time. Obesity among citizens of the United States of America is at epidemic proportions. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), blacks of non-Hispanic ancestry have the highest age-adjusted rate of obesity of almost 50%, when compared with over 40% of Americans of Mexican heritage suffer from obesity. Full Hispanics have an almost 50% rate of obesity, and almost 35% of non Hispanic whites suffer from obesity (JAMA, 2012, p. 307).
