This book is an amazing and miraculous love story with some interesting twists. The main character is going through a divorce and is in counseling. Through this counseling, secrets and repressed memories come out, some of which could retraumatize him or land him in jail. Some of the more traumatic moments in his life have caused PTSD, and he is treated for that. International travel through his work and motorcycle racing help him deal with the stresses.

This book deals with a number of social issues, such as crime, prejudice, abuse, privilege, and alcohol and drug abuse, and ultimately shows how you can surmount any issue in your life with hard work, love, commitment, honor, and courage.
