The exhibit in this volume, Art Groten’s St. Helena Postal History From Napoleon to the UPU, is not from the modern age of exhibiting. It was awarded Grand Awards in 1987 and 1988: a generation ago in exhibiting techniques but an eye blink in the appreciation of classic material. One thing is unchanged: the focus on material. The philatelic community in general, and the students of St. Helena and its Postal History in particular, should derive tremendous satisfaction that this exhibit, from 30 years ago, is now available to a larger audience so that the full range of its philatelic treasures can be fully appreciated. We are fortunate that these images were preserved.
