Part I, which deals with Hunting Dogs, comprises 846 pages and is illustrated with over 1000 black and white images showing some 2150 dogs, mostly named. This part also contains a great deal of important information about canine terminology. Part II, which deals with Non-Hunting Dogs, comprises 858 pages and is illustrated with approximately 1300 black and white images showing some 1950 dogs, also mostly named. These approximately 2300 images show, in addition to photographs, reproductions of paintings and engravings, which together provide unique information about what our dog breeds looked like a century ago.
