Excerpt from State of Alterations: Which May Be Proposed in the Laws for Regulating the Election of Members of Parliament for Shires in Scotland
Having given notice of an intention to bring the important subject, to which the following hints relate, under the consideration of Parliament at an early period of the next Session, and being very desirous of receiving assistance from every individual, who has paid attention to so interesting a matter, it was judged proper to draw up the following short State of the principal points which are likely to become the topics of discussion.
Those who may be inclined to favour the Author with their thoughts upon the subject, are requested to transmit their sentiments respecting it, directed to him, either at Thurso, North Britain, or at Whitehall, London.
