Samenvatting:

The research aimed at studying the level of suicidal ideation among blood cancer patients. The hypotheses of the study were: There is no significant difference between male and female blood cancer patients in suicidal ideation. There is no significant difference between urban and rural blood cancer patients in suicidal ideation. There is no significant difference between the married and un-married blood cancer patients in suicidal ideation .There is no significant difference between joint and nuclear family blood cancer patients in suicidal ideation. The sample of the study included 60 blood cancer patients of both the genders from the KIDWAI INSTITUTE OF ONCOLOGY Bangalore. The purposive sampling method of data collection was used and the beck's suicidal ideation scale was used. Using the SPSS the independent sample't'- test was used on the data's which showed that the hypotheses of the study were not significant at 0.05 level thus proving with all the hypotheses of the study. This may be due to the minimal size of the samples collected and for focusing exclusively on only the blood cancer patients in only one hospital from the city of Bangalore only.
