This is a psychological self-help book about people who base their emotional security on their ability to perform their best (do well at things). If they do well then they believe that they are worthy of acceptance. If they do poorly they are not. When that happens, they can fall into depression. Striving to do the right thing can end up in burnout pertaining to life in general. The purpose is to explain the origins of the problem and how to find a way out.
