This book was primarily written to address the authors own need for a comprehensive textbook on the pests of horticultural crops and their integrated management. Due to the widespread use of digital color photography and the high resolution that can be achieved even with basic digital cameras, it is now easier to obtain good photographs. The book was written with the aim of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students about the pests of crops and the methods to manage them. It is also essential that field-level workers such as officers of the state department of Agriculture and commodity boards, and every practicing farmer who can read English, should have access to basic facts about crop pests. It is likely that much of the information on pests of other crops can be found in this book, allowing readers to effectively manage pests using the latest techniques available to crop management experts.
