It explains in simple language why foster families are sometimes needed and what a foster family is and does. The transition from human foster families to animals is well done. Each aspect of difference is highlighted in a positive way. The pictures are clear enough for even the youngest child to understand and the language varied enough so it can be used as a read-to book for young children or a read-on-your-own for older children.-Mary Hosmar Excellent book that helps to explain why children live with foster or adopted parents. It is very age appropriate and it something that I have been wanting for my children for quite some time. Definitely recommend this book for foster carers. -Mumma JaJa Showing children that families can be made up of different cultures through using the beautiful images of the different animals who have "adopted", I believe not only does it teach compassion within a family, but also goes a long way to building harmony within a community.
